A few years ago I stumbled upon a blue floral crewel pillow and fabric at a local consignment store, Classic Attic. I remember thinking $30 for 2 yards fabric and pillow? The lady in the shop informed me it was crewel and that I was getting a good deal. I had seen crewel before but I didn't realize how pricey it was until I googled it for this post...wow $86 per yard at Calico Corners. I did get a good deal. Yay past me!
For a long time I just used the pillow in my guest room with the thought that I would make something out of the fabric. I never got around to it until my MIL gave me this little step stool. I knew I had found the perfect project for the fabric.
I covered it using the same method as I did with the foot stool in my living room. I like how this step stool has a little storage space inside it. Not sure what to put in there but it is there if I need it!
Look at this fabric close up...isn't it beautiful?
Since the step stool was looking so much better, I decided to spruce up the rest of the window seat area. Here is what it looked like before.
I hung a curtain that my sister gave me, rearranged the pictures on the shelf, added some books and another chair. The other chair is so. you know, two people can sit and chit chat. :)
I love these little bookends...so sweet! Wedding present from a good family friend.
Here is the original pillow on the bed.
I loved this room already, but the small changes make me love it even more!
