Wedding Menus

Tess and I are vigilantly working on our NYC wedding and CANNOT wait!  I enjoyed planning my own wedding so very much and getting involved in all of these fun details has been a blast.  I am working on the wedding menu right now.  I brought in the same scroll work pattern I designed for our paper luminaries and I like how they turned out.  The bride's fonts are Champignon and Yankee Engraved.

Candle Centerpiece - Manhattan Wedding Brainstorming

Theresa and I are certainly going big for our first wedding.  Our bride is from Manhattan and getting married right in the big apple.  We can't wait.  She loves simplicity and fell in love with these centerpieces from Martha Stewart.

 

You can find lots of great candle centerpieces by searching for "affordable centerpieces" or "candle centerpieces" on MS or even just in google.

 

So with the purchase of lots of great vases and candle holders, we decided to put some arrangements together to see what she thought.  Our bride wants a white on white look which will be so simple and elegant in her beautiful space of Guastivino's in Manhattan.

 

Here is what we came up with...what do you like best? 

 

 

 

And the winner is....this last one!  They liked using all 6 tapered candles and 7 pillared candles.  Can't wait to put it all together!

 



It's A Nice Day For A Manhattan White Wedding

Theresa and I are helping to style a Manhattan wedding.  I am so super excited!  The venue, Guastavino's, is beautiful and is full of great architectural elements, magical lighting opportunities and an old world feeling.

This will be an interesting project because we will do most everything from Charlotte but will be helping to arrange the decor the day of.  She is also on a tight budget so our creativity and resourcefulness will come in handy. 

She will be using the white linens that come with the venue and I have been scoping white tablescapes for ideas and inspiration.  We can't wait to come up with the final design board!

This bouquet is made of ranaculous flowers which are fairly inexpensive but beautiful.

I liked this one because it shows a beautiful table without the full tall arrangements.

Ignore the paper flowers and the Christmas ornaments...I liked the idea of small arrangements of flowers in mint julep cups.

The use of the mirror makes the light extend further.  Again, ranunculus flowers are used in a simple round vase.

I liked these paper luminaries and thought about using something like this or paper lanterns up an elegant staircase.  I also like how the napkins are simply folded and hanging off of the table.

Here is a tall arrangement...again I think it is too busy but the look of the queen Anne's lace and baby's breath is so elegant and could be mimicked in smaller arrangements if the bride likes it.

A great way to save money on arrangements is to use candles like this.  I think a design of multiple taper, pillar and votive candles with small arrangements of flowers would be romantic and simple.

Not so wild about the tall centerpieces but I love how the candlelight is reflecting on all of the glass.

I also like how the napkins are folded in this one.  Makes a nice pocket to put the menu in.  The branch is cool too although I am not sure this version would flow with the space.

Welcome Home Prosecco - Homemade Gift Tag

We have met some WONDERFUL people in our neighborhood.  One of the great couples we have had the pleasure of meeting just got married.  They are in our neighborhood supper club and we have really enjoyed getting to know them.  Rudy and I wanted to welcome them home from their honeymoon so I left them a little treat on their doorstep. 
I like to save cards to make gift tags.  I do this mostly at the holidays but I save stationary note cards that can be used all year round as well.  I also save nice ribbon too from gifts to reuse.  I put this together for our neighbors. 

I just picked up a bottle of prosecco and put it on ice in this cute beverage cooler. 

Didn't cost a lot of money and a fun way to welcome them home.  Cheers!

Wedding Day Photo Timeline

Rudy is shooting a wedding this weekend and I am going to be the assistant extraordinaire.  Part of what I do for big weddings like this one is to create the photo timeline for the bride.  Notice that there are only 13 formal shots after the ceremony.  15 is our max...otherwise you will never get to the reception! 

Thought I would share in case you are wondering how to set up your photography schedule.
