Diaper Woes

Eeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrch!  We stop the house dreaming and excitement to talk a bit about cloth diapers.  I bought the bumgenius Freetime diapers and loved them at first.  Now not so much.  Try as I might I cannot get the stains out of them or get them completely clean.  The weird thing is that they are the exact same fabric as my BG 4.0s but those are completely stain free.

Anyone have luck in getting stains out?  If I can't find a solution I am ditching them!  I did contact Bumgenius so maybe they will have some suggestions for me.  Right now they are sitting in bleach.

BumGenius Freetime Diaper Review

I was so excited to see that a local shop in Charlotte, Milky Way, had the new Bumgenius diaper in stock.  When I first saw the Freetime diaper I knew I wanted to try it.  It has all the great features of the 4.0 AIO that we love but there is no stuffing required.  Using our 4.0's is very easy and laundering them is no big deal but how nice to not have to stuff a few!  It works just as well as our other BGs and eventually I am going to replace all of our Oh Katy's with them.  Some people love the Oh Katy AIO's but I don't feel like I can get a good fit with them.

Here is the new Freetime from the outside - same great features as the BG 4.0.

 Inside there are two flaps that you fold down.  This ensures that the diaper will dry quickly.  I was told you can roll one side to make it more absorbent for little boys but it worked just fine folded down as shown.

I typically dry our diapers in the dryer but the flaps unfold to make it very easy to line dry.

bumGenius Has Done It Again!

If we were pregnant now, I would be registering for the new diapers from Bumgenius - the Freetime.  They look amazing!  We use cloth diapers in our home and LOVE them.  We have 23 diapers and do laundry every other day.  Our preferred diapers are the Bumgenius 4.0.  We also use Oh Katy! and Happy Heiny but hands down prefer the Bumgenius better.  You get a good fit, they don't leak and come in cute colors.

Here is some information about the new bumGenius diaper that I received from an email from Kelly's Closet. 

"Freetime is an all-in-one, one-size diaper that combines the features of the best selling bumGenius 4.0 with the conveniences of the bumGenius Elemental.  What's different?  The Freetime inserts are sewn in so that you don't have to stuff or unstuff the inserts on laundry day.  The Freetime inserts are microfiber with a stay dry suede cloth layer to make them more affordable than the bumGenius Elementals.  We think you'll be quite happy with this new addition to the already fabulous bumGenius line of diapers."

I have to say that washing the diapers is not a big deal - seriously it isn't!  And the money we save makes the extra bit of laundry worth it.  But not having to take out the inserts and stuff them would be a great timesaver.  More time = more play time with Reed.  Perhaps by baby #2 we will be needing to replace some of our 4.0s.  I will definitely look into the Freetime diapers!
