My son, Reed, and I take many walks around our neighborhood and a few of my neighbors have beautiful magnolia trees. I love the greenery and of course the blossoms but hadn't made use of the pods. I gathered some and placed them in a pickle dish ($11 from Pier 1 a few years ago) for my living room mantle and in a tiered fruit bowl with a candle in my dining area. I think they could be spray painted gold or given a little greenery for Christmas. But for now they are my fall decor until I decorate for Christmas...which I cannot wait for by the way! More Christmas decorating and traditions in future posts!

I love this bowl. I use it to display so many things. It was a gift from my mother-in-law who used to love to collect antiques but is now purging. I get a lot of her purges...lucky me!
The runner is from Target - I believe they still have them and the candle was a gift from my husband, Rudy, last fall and is an awesome pumpkin spice scent.
