We created origami sail boats following an easy online tutorial. We used red, white and blue scrapbook paper to write the names of the food and beverages. See how to make your own boats here. You could also use these for place cards at a nautical themed table setting as seen in our inspiration photos.
These are the great dollar store cups that I enhanced with paint and permanent markers. The hostess put together a toddler and baby friendly snack mix to go in them. We gave them some height by placing them on top of a box wrapped in craft paper with ribbon and a nautical printable.
Our basic napkins and silverware came a long way when we wrapped them and tied them off with ribbon. A simple basket gave a nautical feel.
Theresa made this great steering wheel following the tutorial from this inspiration photo. As you can see we dressed it up a bit by adding the custom printable in the middle and painting the painters sticks.
I created this great runner out of red, white and blue striped outdoor fabric. It was the perfect touch for that nautical feel. Plus the hostess loves stripes! See how I made this no sew table runner here.
At the party we attached this great cording to the edges of the runner. What a perfect way to finish off this great piece!
Theresa made this sweet cake topper. LOVE!
The guests were so impressed with all of the details and the hostess couldn't have been more excited! Tomorrow I will post the last pics of all the great things we did in the back yard and of course the finished sailboat photo booth.
